Outdoor goes China

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN/MUNICH, Germany – Both German show organizers Messe Friedrichshafen and Messe München released the news of their Chinese ambitions at the same time. Eurobike and OutDoor show organizer Messe Friedrichshafen partners with the organizer of Asia OutDoor in Nanjing. And Ispo show organizer Messe München announced the creation of the 1st Outdoor Sports Order Show China in Hang Zhou. Both German show organizers want to take part in the prospering consumer market in China. China is increasingly keen on western premium brands. According to Messe Friedrichshafen in 2004, Chinese outdoor product sales already reached € 2.7 billion (source: Market Research China). Currently the Chinese outdoor market increases by 40 % per year. Until 2010 insiders forecast a yearly increase of “not less than 25 % each year”. These impressive numbers makes it easy to invest in this future market. Eurobike and OutDoor organizer Messe Friedrichshafen is involved in planning and concept of the new Asia OutDoor show in the metropolis Nanjing (population: seven million). This show will take place from 23 to 26 August 2006. Further info: www.messe-friedrichshafen.de. The Outdoor Sports Order Show China will be held from 20 to 23. August in Hang Zhou. According to Ispo Group this new show was created at the request of the industry, searching for a platform for their summer collection as well as the year-round collections. Further info: www.ispo.com. Due to the close show dates of both shows competition of Messe Friedrichshafen and Messe München will continue in China.
