Paris Cycle Show Brings new Perspective

PARIS, France – With over 6,000 square meters and 350 brands from 23 countries up to now, the 2011 Paris Cycle Show promises to be one of the most exiting editions in its history. All the main actors of the cycling world, manufacturers, importers, distributors will be exhibiting in Paris as well as all those whose activities take part in developing the use of cycles.

“All our loyal exhibitors have renewed their trust in the Paris Cycle Show and many other French and international companies have decided to join them, making the 2011 edition very successful”, says Catherine Stucki, Communication Director of this event.

The France cycle market rejoices a growing popularity of the bicycle as a means of transportation. The market share of the bicycle in mobility expanded from 17% in 2000 to 27% in 2010. This growing popularity will continue to rise thanks to the rising sales of city bikes, folding bikes and e-bikes. Although in volume still relatively small, also the e-bike sales seem picking up in France. Last year the market increase by 60% to nearly 40,000 units. With 3,031,300 cycles sold, France has become the third bicycle market in volume in Europe.

The Paris Cycle Show takes place from 16 – 19 September. Friday the 16th and Monday the 19th are Trade days.
