Phylion Improves Production Strategy

Phylion has adjusted its production strategy to improve the quality of its e-bike batteries. In the past batteries were often kept on stock too long resulting in product failures. Today all batteries are produced on order and shipped within one month. All units kept in stock for more than one month are charged and tested after 30 days.

By adding a Phylion logo, a series number and a trace number, all failing batteries can be easily traced back to the production batch, in order to improve the final quality. The opening of a sales and service office in Europe last February was undertaken to boost sales and improve Phylion’s image as high-end battery supplier. Today Phylion Europe employs two people, but it is expected this number will grow rapidly. Phylion has chosen Velp in the Netherlands for their first European office, due to the proximity of the two major e-Bike markets in Europe: Germany and the Netherlands.

Last February Phylion and the City of Shanghai concluded a joint venture which is very important for the promotion of the company. As of the beginning of May this year, all hybrid cars driving around the World Expo 2010 venue in Shanghai have been equipped with Phylion batteries. The company sees the e-bike is an important step ahead in the development of its batteries. However for the future they are targeting the e-vehicle, predicting they are 5-10 years away from mass market sales of safe, cost effective batteries for e-vehicles.
