SALZBURG, Austria – Austria’s wholesaler for powered two-wheelers Faber is taking Puch back to where it once started, Austria. Faber’s e-bike & bicycle division manager Jörg Fritzenwallner (photo) told Bike Europe at the Bike&Trimm show: “Faber signed a license contract with Cycleurope for the trademark Puch bikes in Austria.”
In 2012 the Austrian Puch brand is celebrating a comeback on its former home market. Up to now the traditional brand – currently owned by Cycleurope (brands Bianchi, Crescent, DBS, Everton. Gitane, Kildemoes, Legnano, Micmo, Monark, Spectra and – via license – Peugeot bicycles) – was only sold on the Dutch market.
With the Puch e-bikes and bicycles wholesaler Faber is expanding its activities into the non-motorized two-wheeler segment. The company is importer of Italian Piaggio-Group with its brands Derbi, Gilera, Moto Guzzi, Piaggio and Vespa. At the Bike&Trimm show Faber introduced a limited Puch range of nine models including five e-bikes.
