BRUSSELS, Belgium – The European Union has banned the sales of Northtec Redhawk VB20 mountainbikes. All models have to be withdrawn from the market immediately as this bike does not comply with the European standard EN 14766.
These Polish made MTBs poses a risk of injuries because it does not meet the safety requirements, says the EU RAPEX warning system for unsafe products.
Breaking frames and pedals
Users of the Northtec Redhawk VB20 were confronted with breaking frames and pedals. On top of that the braking distances of front and back wheels are different while the back wheel braking distance on dry and wet roads does not comply with requirements EN 14766.
