Trek Pulls Out of Eurobike

WATERLOO, USA – Trek will not be exhibiting at Eurobike in 2012 as it will host its second annual retailer-focused Trek World Europe in Germany mid July. It will be the first opportunity for Trek retailers worldwide to see and experience the latest innovations in the product ranges of Trek, Bontrager, Villiger, and Diamant.

Impact on Eurobike and on other shows
In the past years the success of Trek World in the USA resulted in very limited presentation of their brands at Interbike, the US trade show. Trek’s main competitors in the US followed suit in organizing their own national events what resulted in an ongoing discussion on the importance of Interbike. The launch of Trek World in Europe, primarily targeted at European IBDs, raises the question on who’s next? And with that of course on the impact it will have on Eurobike and on other shows like ExpoBici, Bike Brno or Paris Cycle.

‘Huge value for European retail partners’
“Trek World represents a huge value for our European retail partners. Nobody has ever seen the range of products from one company that we are going to present,” said Trek VP of Product & Marketing Joe Vadeboncoeur. “Retailers will also have the opportunity to interact with Trek’s Product Development team throughout the event and view a full display filled with new bikes, apparel and accessories.”

Trek President John Burke
“Our first priority is the success of the retailer and we have found that an annual Trek World meeting combining product introductions with retailer-focused business seminars is a recipe for retailer success,” said Trek President John Burke.

Trek World Europe will take place from July 16-20 in Frankfurt, Germany. The event will also feature a public day on July 21st.
