SRAM Relaunches Grip Shift

The famous Grip Shift was the basis of SRAM as international player in the bicycle industry. The original SRAM Grip Shift burst onto the scene in 1990, when Greg Herbold used it to win the first-ever Downhill World Championship. As mountainbike racing saw a growing popularity these days, elite racers grew to embrace Grip Shift.

This product is still often linked to SRAM. Although the market was small in the past years, Grip Shift has been in production ever since the first introduction. Following market demand and much-needed product development, SRAM is now re-launching the XX and XO levels.

SRAM took the opportunity of this re-introduction to redefine the original Grip Shift with all new levels of performance and refinement. The XX Grip Shift will be available for 2x10 SRAM drive trains in early 2012. The new edition has several remarkable features.

New features Grip Shift
The XX and X0 Grip Shift has a complete interlocking shifter and grip system with clamp on design. The full metal internal mechanism for XX level allows very precise shifting and durability while the three rows of ball bearings deliver smoothness, precision, reduced cable pull force, and durability in all conditions.

The XX Grip Shift comes with a full Gore Ride On cable system. Next April Grip Shift will be introduced to the US after-market only, in order to get consumer feedback first before the global introduction.
