Taiwan Companies To Focus Strongly on China as Free Trade Agreement Kicks Off Fully

The Taiwanese bike industry will focus strongly on China in the years to come. This was underlined yesterday by Tony Lo (photo), CEO of Giant Global Group at the Eurobike Show. He made his remarks at the press conference hosted by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).

At this meeting Jeremy Horng, Executive Director of the TAITRA exhibition department, and Chang-Jinn Shen, Director of Taipei Commercial Division introduced the Taipei Cycle Show of 2012. Tony Lo, who is next to Giant CEO also Chairman of the Taiwan Bicycle Exporters Association (TBEA) presented insights and shared his views concerning the future of the Taiwan bicycle manufacturers as well as the P&A makers of the country.

According to Tony Lo a big part of that future lies in China. As the Free Trade Agreement becomes fully operational at the start of the New Year. With that the Taiwan makers are granted a free access to the China market. Tony Lo said that one of the goals is to develop the Chinese market. He also said that the Taipei Cycle Show which is taking place from March 7 – 10, 2012 at the TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall, will the best platform for that.

Next to the Giant CEO four leading brands also showcased new products to further attest to Taiwan’s reputation as a supplier of high-end bicycle products.
