Ten Most Innovative Bike Products Honoured with Eurobike Gold Awards

Earlier today the Eurobike Awards ceremony took place during which the ten most innovative and most functional bike products were honoured with Golden Eurobike Awards. A jury of six people representing different sectors from the bicycle business selected the ten from a total of 414 entries.

Of that total some 140 were complete bikes while close to 250 were parts, accessories and bike wear products. Never before in the history of the Eurobike Awards so many entries in complete bicycles were recorded. The electric bikes are also here the driving force as many of the 140 entries were pedelecs or the fast electric bikes. Three of them are honoured with a Golden Eurobike Award. The three are:

• The JD Group’s TranzX PST bike fitted with Automatic-Gear-Transmission.
• TDR Fluxx; a very stylish e-bike from a newcomer in the industry: Theo de Rooij; former Rabobank team manager.
• Flyer Cargo; the optimum in carrying loads on an e-bike.

This year the Eurobike Award jury consisted of H.H. Pardey, Ulrike Saade, Dirk Zedler, N.H. Moormann, Peter Feld and Jack Oortwijn. They selected the winners according to 17 evaluation criteria varying from functionality to aerodynamics to design quality and innovation. Other bikes that are honoured with a Eurobike Gold Award are: Koga World Traveller; HP Velotechnik Gekko Tricycle; HaiBike 29-er carbon and the Cannondale SuperSix EVO.

In the category P&A and bike wear the winners are: Pearl Izumi Road Shoe Octane SL; Michelin Pro-Tek Max inner tubes and the Oratory Jacket from Brompton Bicycle Ltd.
