WATERLOO, USA - Trek Bicycle Corporation issued a voluntary recall for no less than 27,000 Trek 2012 FX and District bicycles. Trek decided to recall these bikes after receiving reports of breaking bolt that secures the seat saddle clamp to the seat post.
The bicycles involved in the recall have been sold mainly on the US market. A neglectable number have been distributed in Europe.
The China made bicycles of this recall include the following models: Model Year 2012: Trek 7.2 FX, 7.3 FX, 7.4 FX, AND 7.5 FX; District, and 9th District bicycle models: WSD, Livestrong and Disc models.
Trek urged all consumers stop riding the bicycles immediately and contact their authorized Trek dealer for a free replacement bolt. Until now Trek received four reports of incidents with one injury.
