AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (15 June 2000)--Next week Amsterdam will play host to
the international conference Velo Mondial. This year's program will address
issues ranging from economy and health, environment and land use planning to
transport and bicycle technology. 'The Dutch experience' will be a focus of
attention since, as the organizers point out, choosing the Netherlands as a
site for Velo Mondial 2000 was no coincidence.
What makes Velo Mondial 2000 special is the extracurricular events
surrounding the conference itself, such as the photo exhibition
Amsterdam-Peking, a bicycle festival with an entire showcase of virtually
every type of model as well as a large number of cycling tours.
The event will take place from 19 to 22 June. For more information visit
Velo Mondial's website at www.velomondial2000.nl. (JW)
