Production at Vietnam based Dragon Bicycles is re-started by owner Sammy Pai (photo). He is not only focusing on the production of mid to hi-end bikes, but also on alloy and steel frames.
Sammy Pai was at this year’s Taipei Cycle to re-introduce his company that after the introduction of the anti-dumping duties on Vietnam produced bikes almost completely ceased production. At the heydays of the export of Vietnam made bicycles,
Dragon Bicycles produced about 2,000 bikes per day. Pai said in Taipei that production will increase slowly at his factory which is located south of Ho Chin Min city. He further added that production in Vietnam currently is very competitive with China as the country recently devalueated it currency by 8%.
