Vuelta, by Rodi

AVEIRO, Portugal (November 12) - In the October issue of Bike Europe, we announced the joint venture between Büchel components and mr. Moreno Fioravanti for the production of high-end design wheelsets for OEM use. In our report, Büchel and Fioravanti use the name Vuelta for the wheelsets they intend to build. Rodi, the Portuguese rim makers who originally deposited the Vuelta brand name, reacted to say that originally, the name was 'Vuelta' with the addition 'by Rodi'. Rodi say that they are actually litigating the use of the Vuelta name by the Büchel/Fioravanti partnership, and say that the explanation in Bike Europe of the relation between Vuelta and Rodi is factually untrue. Rodi wishes to state that it is not one of the suppliers to a marketing and sales company by the name of Vuelta, but that mr. Fioravanti was Rodi's marketing and sales agent for Europe, with the Vuelta brand in his portfolio. As said, Rodi will bring the rupture between mr. Fioravanti's agency and Rodi manufacture in court. In the meantime, Rodi continues to manufacture rims under the brand names Vuelta and Airline.(OB)
