Uwe Weissflog, marketing communications manager at Sram-Europe, left the
Amersfoort-based subsidiary of the US-Amercian bicycle component maker at the end of 2000. "After more than four years in Holland my family situation calls
for a change", Weissflog said to Bike Europe. The native German has gone back
to Stuttgart where he worked as marketing communications manager for Paul
Lange, German distributor of Shimano, before starting at Sram. Now he will
take a short time out. Martin van Beek, general manager of Sram-Europe, regrets Weissflog's decision: "Over the last years Uwe has done a tremendous job at Sram in
Europe. All of us wish him all the best in the future." said Beek
Sram-Europe is now searching for a new marketing manager. While the search
for Weissflog's replacement continues, all European marketing and
communications responsibilities will be handled by David Zimberoff, Sram's
global manager of marketing communications (@-mail: davidz@sram.com). (JB)
