DARMSTADT, Germany – As part of the workshop series ‘bicycle safety’, the German Association for Materials Research and Testing (DVM) is organising a 1.5 day seminar on the currently much debated issue of the safety of electric bicycles.
The workshop includes lectures by experts from industry and science as well as panel discussions. The first day of the workshop will start with lectures on the typology of electric bicycles, legal affairs as well as the future market opportunities for e-Bikes. On the second day the focus will be put on the design challenges for electric bicycles. Key issues like related to batteries like design and durability will be discussed.
The workshop will take place on February 3 and 4 at the Fraunhofer Institute for Structural Durability and System Reliability in Darmstadt, Germany.
The lecturers scheduled are among them Siegfried Neuberger of the German industry Association ZIV, Hannes Neupert of ExtraEnergy e.V., Mr. H. Hanselka of the Fraunhofer LBF & Technical University of Darmstad, Mr. Zedler of the Institute for Bicycle Technology & Safety and Mr Schäfer of Li-Tec Battery GmbH.
