Mach 1 Launching Carbon Alloy Rims
The 2008 rim range from Mach 1 contains two important new developments. The fist one is that the company is this year launching rims made of carbon in combination with aluminium. The second one is that Mach 1 is now also addressing the growing FreeRide segment.
Mach 1 offers combined carbon – alloy rims with its new Via 30 – 700 C road racing rim. The carbon skin of this rim is combined with 6060T6 alloy which makes it, according to the company; ‘An explosive mix dedicated to those who are looking for more flexibility while keeping the rigidity of carbon’.
Weight of the Via 30 rims is 490 grams and it comes with 24 spoke holes only and in ETRTO 622 x 13C; tyre section 18 – 28 in black or silver bright finish.
Mach 1 is addressing the growing FreeRide segment with the Magma Disc which is replacing the Freeride Disc in its 2008 MTB range. The company calls the new Magma Disc as ranked among the best rims for FreeRide, Dirt en 4Cross. Weight is 580 grams, ETRTO: 559 x 21C; tyre section: 35 – 62 and comes in 32/36 spokeholes. Also new is the Magma MTB V-Brake which is basically the same rims as the Disc but for the one that prefer a V-brake system.
