Tufo is a high quality bike tyre producer in the Czech Republic which launched tubeless road racing tyres at this month's Bike Brno Show. These are different from conventional tubeless tyres. The best way to describe Tufo’s tubeless system is that their tyres have integrated inner tubes. Moreover, the Tufo tubeless system resembles tubulars.

Tufo’s tubular clinchers come with a tape that consists of several layers. There’s an active white strip on the tubular tyre side which is absorbed into the tubular tyre base tape for a perfect tubular/rim bond. Next, thanks to a protective plastic film, the tubular tyre is easily installed and centered on the rim; the film is pulled out from underneath the tubulear tyre after installation.

When inflated, the Tufo tubular clincher is pressed against the rim in the same way as a tubular. The Tufo’s tubeless road racing tyres can have high inflation pressures of up to 15 bars and offer the same riding qualities as tubulars.

Tufo also introduced wheelsets at this year’s Bike Brno show. The company launched three carbon sets; two for road racing and one for MTBs. They all come with Tufo’s tubeless system. Weight is approx. 1400 – 1500 grams per set.
