LA Bicycle/Bangkok Cycles from Thailand used this year’s Taipei Cycle for the international introduction of its e-Bike, the LA e-Ride. It comes in two versions; with speed sensing technology and with the more sophisticated torque sensor.

Both models have a 6061 aluminium frame. The 27V battery is rear carrier mounted and is a lithium manganese type capable of a range up to 50 kilometers. The hub motor is front wheel mounted, creating the possibility to equip the rear wheel with a 7-speed Shimano gear hub for the torque sensor model.

The version with the speed sensing technology has a Shimano Alivio 7-speed rear derailleur. The weight of the LA e-Ride models is about 25 kg. Of course these e-Bikes are available for private label production. A LA Bicycle/Bangkok Cycles spokeperson said at the Taipei Show that the torque sensor e-Bikes is expected to retail for about € 1,200. Both models will be available next January.
