For months it has already been widely trailed on the Internet, but is now launched to the public; SRAM’s all new and super high-end XX groupset positioned even higher than X.0. It’s a 2 x 10 speed platform for MTBs that inherits lots of design features from SRAM’s current top-of-the-line in racing - the Red groupset. Weight is the main feature of XX, with the dimensions of most parts being reduced.

SRAM states on XX: “The four most innovative brands in cycling have come together behind one singular goal: to craft the most advanced cross country group ever. XX was a project that covered two years and thousands of hours, spanning six countries on three continents. It took the product and design expertise of SRAM shifting, RockShox suspension, Avid braking, and Truvativ engineering working united as one to create the lightest, most technically advanced group conceivable.”

Remarkable is the 2x10 speed. SRAM says that athlete’s demanded that platform as 3 x 10 offers about the same transmission options against more weight. The official launch of XX will take place at this year’s Eurobike while the first shipments will start this August. Already the first win with XX took place last weekend with Julien Absalon winning the Madrid World Cup race.
