The new ‘Messenger’ crank set is Suntour’s first step into the Fixie/Urban bike market. The Messenger has a very clean design and comes in three different crank arm colours – black, white, or silver polished. All colours are combined with a black ED coated or silver 42 teeth chain ring giving a large variety of colour combinations. Suntour has a whole new range of crank sets for the city and MTB segment. The most remarkable development is the FXS crank set which is fixed by one screw only.
The XCT V3 series is SR Suntour’s medium range entry level crank set series, featuring the SR Suntour ‘Super Power Flow’ technology for enhanced shifting performance. The outer chain ring is made of alloy and the inner rings are made of steel. All chain rings are fully interchangeable.
The XCT V3 comes in two chain ring combinations: 42/32/22 or 48/38/28. The intended use for this series is clearly on entry-level city and mountain bikes. A protection guard can be ordered as an option. The chain guard and arms will be painted in the same colour. This model is also available in a junior version for kids bikes. The XCT JR (junior) crank sets are available in 160mm and 152mm length.
The NX is Suntour’s new style of city bike crank set, compatible with 9 speed drivetrains. With this crank set Suntour wants to push the level of integration within the crank set segment. The chain guard and the spider are a one piece design and produced with casting technology.
This gives the crank set a clean design and effectively protects the biker from dirt and grease from the chain. The NX has a two-tone finish to choose from: black/silver or white/silver. This crank set comes in three different chain ring options – triple with 48/36/26 teeth, double with 48/34 teeth, and single speed with 48 teeth.
The FXS crank set’s name refers to ‘fixed axle’ as the axle is pressed into the left crank arm. The whole crank set is fixed by one screw only. The new XCR-V2 FXS also features Suntour’s new ‘Power Flow Technology’. This is a combination of Suntour’s reinforced ‘Super Power Flow’ shifting ramp and their new ‘Flow Ring’ which gives additional support to enhance shifting performance. It is also acts as an anti-chain-jam protection. Combined with Suntour’s new XCR front derailleur it will provide improved shifting performance.
