With negative publicity accompanying patent infringements, a growing number of Chinese based companies are paying more and more attention to product design. The Shanghai Forever Bicycle Company has joined two well-known design institutions to boost its image as a manufacturer of unique products instead of just copying other designs.
Shanghai Forever participated in the China-Germany Students Expo Bike Design Workshop which was attended by German Folkwang Hochschule as well as the Danish Desingskolen Kolding.
The results of this design workshop were shown at the Shanghai Forever booth at the 2010 China International Bicycle & Motor Fair.
Besides the design studies, Shanghai Forever also presented their latest publicity generator, the Rental System as implemented by the city of Shanghai. The 24-inch rental bike was specially developed for public transportation systems. Besides the attractive design, it is features an extra strong aluminium frame, a unique identification via a built-in RFID and a coded frame lock.
