Entry Level Carbon Frame-set by Pro-Lite

It was probably the newest product that attracted the most attention from product managers at the Pro-Lite booth in Taichung Bike Week; the full blown OE carbon race frame that comes for US$360. The 1,000 gram frame set comes in different finishes and specific forks, as well as handlebars, stems, and saddles.

The Taiwan-based company with a European HQ in the Czech Republic showed in Taichung that it is expanding into the MTB segment. The company presented a complete range of alloy and carbon wheelsets for mountain bikes with pinned, sleeved, or welded rims. The alloy ones come with special I-Beam rims. According to Pro-Lite I-Beam is a construction technology. It provides double wall rims with an extra reinforcing ‘beam’.

Another new technology shown by Pro-Lite is used in road race wheelsets and is called ‘spoke brace’, designed to bring down less flex in wheels and provide for an improved power transfer.
