Last Friday US based bicycle maker Huffy Corporation announced its entrance on the Indian market with its premium products, priced between US$ 100 and US$ 300. According to industry insiders, bicycle sales in this range are swelling quickly on this rapidly expanding market. Especially the middle-class is ready to spend money on bicycle brands that had no chance in the Indian market until recently.

NEW DELHI, India – Last Friday US based bicycle maker Huffy Corporation announced its entrance on the Indian market with its premium products, priced between US$ 100 and US$ 300. According to industry insiders, bicycle sales in this range are swelling quickly on this rapidly expanding market. Especially the middle-class is ready to spend money on bicycle brands that had no chance in the Indian market until recently.

Huffy has appointed Action Bikes Put Ltd as its exclusive distributor for the Indian market. The company will offer 15 models in India and Action Bikes will be marketing and selling the products across the country.

The Indian bicycle market is not new anymore to international bicycle brands as Firefox distribute Trek and TI sells Schwann, GT, Cannondale and Ducati in the price range between US$ 300 and US$ 2,000.

Huffy Corporation offers products for all ages from tricycles, scooters and children’s bicycles to mountain bikes, cruiser and commuter bikes. It sells products across 20 countries in the world. Huffy was founded in 1887 as a sewing machine company. Seven years later, in 1894, it changed to bicycles.
