Kryptonite Launches Ring Locks Made by Axa-Daughter

CANTON, USA – Kryptonite launched their first ring lock series. It will include both stand-alone ring locks and ring locks with plug-ins offering various security options for riders. The new Ring Lock Series is available now throughout the European market.

The new Ring Lock Series combines convenience and versatility allowing for more stress free lock-ups for riders. As a stand-alone security product, the ring lock is great for a quick lock-up preventing against roll away and ride away theft. When utilizing a chain or cable plug-in system, a rider is afforded more options as they can lock to a fixed object, increasing security and preventing lift-away theft as well.

Ring lock includes multiple levels of security

“In order for Kryptonite to meet the needs of riders in some of the largest bicycle commuting markets in Europe, it is essential that we offer a ring lock series that includes multiple levels of security options,” said Nick Watkin, Kryptonite general manager. “The various security options give riders the ability to utilize a cable or chain with their ring lock increasing their own bicycle security as needed in their particular lock-up situation.”

The ring lock will be made by AXA Stenman; just like Kryptonite a brand of Allegion and producer of high-quality chains, cables, u-locks and flexible security systems for the bicycle market,

The Ring Lock Series includes both key retaining and non-key retaining ring locks, ring lock with plug-in packages including both a 5.5 mm/120 cm chain and a 10 mm/120 cm cable. The 5.5 mm chain and the 10 mm cable are also sold separately along with a 9 mm chain.

Kryptonite also offers a non-key retaining ring lock with a flex mount bracket system. The bracket system is used to affix the ring lock to the frame when the traditional braze ons are not being utilized or are not available on the bike frame.
