“Two years ago I forecasted an e-bike market share of approximately 33%,” said Fleischer today as member of the panel of the Eurobike industry discussion organized by Messe Friedrichshafen. “Looking at the current market situation and the expansion of the e-bike to nearly all categories except BMX and kids bikes, I have changed my market expectations. The popularity of E-MTBs in particular will result in a much larger market share.”

E-bike safety issues

During the industry discussion, Claus Fleischer also stipulated his concerns over the safety issues regarding e-bikes. “The theme of cycling safety will be leading in the near future in product development but also in market communication. Therefore we developed together with Magura the first ABS brake system for e-bikes.”
