FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany (7 February 2000) – Messe Friedrichshafen, organizer of the European OutDoor and Eurobike shows, has postponed its Outdoor & Bike Festival debut to 2001. The show was scheduled for this spring. The German show organizer wanted to create an innovative consumer event to kick off the 2000 bicycle and (summer) outdoor season.
The outdoor and bicycle industries are enthusiastic about the benefits that such a consumer event could provide, and both industries are counting on synergy effects.
“We want to offer a quality event. To do this we have to shift the idea to next year,” says a Messe Friedrichshafen press release.
While this year’s Outdoor & Bike Festival was scheduled for April, in 2001 the show will be held in May. According to the organizer, this shift will guarantee much better weather conditions for detailed “product watching and testing.” Another change includes the show’s duration, which has been trimmed down from four days to three.
