AUCKLAND, New Zealand (August 27) – A long time ago, sports clothes were made of archaic materials like wool and cotton. Now we have become used to a myriad of hi-tech cloth that has more functions than fit on the label. But sheep are fighting back: the latest trend in cycle wear is a return to old-style woollen shirts and shorts. Claiming to be more comfortable than man-made fibres, the natural stuff is having a strong comeback. Already quite a few manufacturers are incorporating woollen jerseys in their 2005 line-up which will be introduced next week during the Eurobike Show in Friedrichshafen. (MH)
