BONN, Germany – Founded and launched on the occasion of the 2007 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Bali, the Global Alliance for EcoMobility will presents its Annual Campaign for 2010 at Eurobike.
The presentation will take place September 3 between 11:30 and 13:00 in room Paris (Foyer East, 1st floor). During the event, the Secretary General of the EcoMobility Alliance, Konrad Otto-Zimmermann, will introduce the concept and actions of the campaign, key messages as well as visuals.
The presentation will also include how companies of the bicycle and bicycle accessories industry can become partners of the campaign. The name of campaign is “Moving to Cool the Planet”.
“Moving to Cool the Planet” will promote EcoMobility as a healthy and dynamic lifestyle and a meaningful and enjoyable way to “cool” our planet in order to tackle the threat of climate change.
Transportation is a big contributor to this problem. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), 13% of total Green House Gases (GHG) emissions derived from transport in 2004. People around the world are looking for meaningful ways to do their bit to mitigate global warming: recycling, buying energy efficient light bulbs or reducing meat consumption.
On transportation, there is a huge potential for individual action. Each person can make a personal contribution by riding a bicycle, walking or using public transport to go to work, shopping or to school.
