Traffic Jams No Big Issue this Year

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany – Contrary to previous years, the opening day of Eurobike was not struck by huge traffic jams. “All measures taken to avoid traffic problems seem to start to be successful”, says Wolfgang Koehle, press officer of Eurobike.

“The whole bike industry was looking at how we would solve the problem of the traffic jams and I can assure you the whole team was quite nervous how all new measures aimed at keeping local traffic away from the fair ground would work out this year. In the end all traffic measures together worked out well and we are very satisfied with the results.

The opening of a new entrance in combination with more parking lots saved visitors a lot of annoyance. However, exhibitors in the new Foyer East were complaining about the limited visitor’s attention.

“It seems as if people can’t find the new entrance” mentioned one of the exhibitors. “Or they don’t know about the existence of the Foyer East.” Although people had to use the Foyer East as a corridor between the new halls A7 and B5 it lasted until the afternoon before the exhibitors could welcome a substantial number of visitors.
