FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany – Every year Friedrichshafen turns into the Mecca for the global bike industry. This is where the newest bikes, parts and accessories are launched and ordered.
However, Eurobike has more to offer; from the Demo Day up to Eurobike Award and from the e-Bike Test Tracks to the Travel Talk Congress. And don’t forget the immensely popular Eurobike Party. Here’s an overview of Eurobike’s 2010 side events.
At the 4th Demo Day test riders will ride through the foothills of the Alps in the Allgäu region. At the large test area in Ratzenried (Gemeinde Argenbuehl) Demo Day which will take place from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, 31 August 2010, one day before the official opening of Eurobike 2010.
At Eurobike 2010 pedelecs and e-Bikes will be in the spotlights more than ever before. As last year, e-Bike exhibitors will be presenting their bikes in the Zeppelin Hall and on the open-air grounds East. With the test track in the Zeppelin Hall and a new spacious outdoor test track starting at the open-air park East, Messe Friedrichshafen is extending on its focus on pedelec and e-Bikes.
What over the years has developed into a useful marketing instrument for the bicycle sector is taking place for the 6th time this year. It’s Eurobike Award which provides consumers a sense of orientation in the bicycle sector, shows them what is innovative, functional or environmentally friendly and sustainable. All prize winning products will be presented at a special display at the main entrance in Foyer West. The Awards ceremony will take place on September 1 at 6.00 pm on the fashion show stage in Foyer East.
The 9th Eurobike Travel Talk will take place on Friday September 3. This Cycle Tourism Congress will open with brief presentations on regional concepts for cycle tourism, MTB and cross marketing. In the afternoon workshops there’s more on the major trends, such as GPS and e-Bikes. The Congress closes with a presentation on “Travel decisions today – the world of Web 2.0”. The latest colours, trendy cuts, new functions in bike wear are showed three times per day at (11 am, 2 and 4 pm) at the glamorous Eurobike Fashion Show in Foyer East.
When the last trade visitor day of Eurobike 2010 is over on Friday, it’s time to put the feet up, or in the air. At 6.30 it’s party time with the outdoor grounds turning into an open-air concert arena and the largest dance floor on Lake Constance all in one.
