US Show Interbike Changes Timing and Location

LAS VEGAS, USA – Rumours were there already for some time, but today Interbike show organizer Nielsen Expositions officially confirmed that the largest bicycle trade show in the US will change its timing as well as its location.

As of next year Interbike will take place in Anaheim, California (trade show venue see photo). After several years of discussion and industry inquiries, Interbike will finally leave Las Vegas and not move to that other city often mentioned as a good alternative, Salt Lake City, Utah.

The announcement to move Interbike to a new location comes two weeks after Nielsen’s statement to shift the show dates. As of 2011 Interbike will start in August 1 with a two-day outdoor event followed by the indoor expo from August 3 – 5. The Outdoor Demo will take place in Irvine Regional Park.

Only two and half years ago Nielsen Expositions committed Interbike to Las Vegas for a period of five years. Forced by a shifting trade show landscape in the USA as well as in Europe and an earlier buy/sell cycles decided not to fulfil this commitment. Moving the show dates implied a new location as it is too hot in the Las Vegas area for the Outdoor Demo in August.

In 2008 the Anaheim Convention Centre was already mentioned as one of the most attractive alternatives. Since Interbike left Anaheim after the 1997 edition, this convention centre has undergone a major expansion and renovation.
