TAICHUNG, Taiwan – If business wise modelyear 2014 will end the way it started today at the Taichung Bike Week (TBW), the bike industry is in for a treat! The mini shows for OEM product managers taking place in four Taichung hotels, is with 195 exhibitors 30% bigger compared to last year.

ModelYear 2014 Kicks Off Big at Taichung Bike Week
There’s saying at the hotel floors that another and brand new hotel is looking to get into Taichung Bike Week. It’s the Millennium Vee hotel.

Not only the number of exhibitors is up; the same will go for the number of visitors as the first day was already up compared to last year. Especially when taking the crowded show floor at the Evergreen hotel into account. In the Splendor hotel – this year new in the TBW roster – it was less crowded. However, the second day of the TBW starting tomorrow is usually when most product manager are there. Organizers are modest on their expectations for the total number of visitors. They anticipate some 2,000; about the same as last year.

5th hotel location?
This year the Tempus and Evergreen hotels are fully booked. The Splendor hotel still has room for more exhibitors next year. Next to these three there’s also Hotel One where the Ride-On exhibitors are. But apart from these four there’s saying at the hotel floors that another and brand new hotel is looking to get into Taichung Bike Week. It’s the Millennium Vee hotel. Taichung mayor Jason Hu who together with the Taichung city government is again supporting Taichung Bike Week 2012, is offering a reception dinner party for all TBW participants on November 14. However, on the same date and time, but in the Splendor hotel, also such a dinner party is planned.

What’s new?
So what’s new at this year’s TBW? In particular bike components with integrated LED lights. They are now in handlebars, seatposts, grips, carriers and even in brakes as a stoplight. Another interesting new development is that there are now also companies exhibiting that are targeting the AfterMarket in particular. If this is the start of a new trend, TBW is to grow even bigger in the coming years.
