Paris Cycle Show Packed with Action
PARIS, France – The bi-annual showcase of the French cycling industry, the Paris Cycle Show, promises to become a dynamic and eventful show. Over 490 brands from 27 countries will present their latest innovations to the French industry.
The success of Paris’s rental bike system, the Velib, did put the city bike back in the spotlight in France. Therefore a remarkable part of the 2013 show is the city ride through Paris on Sunday September 15, in partnership with Paris City Hall, Eurosport and RTL2. It will start on the square in front of Paris City Hall and end at the show venue at Porte de Versailles.
City Bike Grand Prix
Cycle show exhibitors and young innovating companies which distribute bicycles destined for transportation and travel are addressed to join the City Bikes Grand Prix 2014. This competition is organized by the Committee for the Promotion of Cycling. It includes the categories city bikes, e-bikes, folding bikes and folding e-bikes. It rewards, in each category, the bicycle which best matches the criteria established by daily bicycle users in a city environment.
The previous edition of the Paris Cycle Show was reported a success in terms of visitors. In 2011 the event welcomed a total of 69,251 visitors, including 500 journalists and 2,000 trade visitors.
The Paris Cycle Show will take place at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles and is a joint project together with the national cycle industry organization Tous à Vélo-CNPC. The show will be open for public on September 13-15. On Monday September 16 the Paris Cycle Show will be open for trade visitors only.
