Shows & Events

Every rim maker is now going wider. At least that’s the message they are bringing to their OEM customers at this year’s Taichung Bike Week. From 17 to 19 and 21 while for MTB’s it now goes from 21 to 27. The same goes for axles as well as other components that are suited for 650b, 29-ers, Fatties, electric bikes and so on. And it looks like they are all getting their own parts programs.

Exploding programs

One of the many parts makers that gathered at this year’s Taichung Bike Week expressed his concerns over this development and said: “Bringing the right dimension for each trend means that parts programs are exploding. One has to take into account all the issues related to this development like safety, meeting all required standards, lead times as well as how to control it all. That could prove to be a big problem.”

Tomorrow, Friday November 7, is the last day of Taichung Bike Week 2014.
