64 Products Listed for the Eurobike Award
FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany – Exactly 500 product innovations were judged this year for the Eurobike Award 2015. During a two event the six judges made a selection and decided which products will receive an award during the Eurobike.
On August 12 and 13 a designer, three journalists from the trade press, a successful mountain biker and a bike dealer from Milan debated the new products’ designs, technology, functions and their level of innovation. A critical factor was the record number of 500 products and innovations applying for a Eurobike Award this year. The large number of entries also underlines the position of the award as the most important one in the bike industry.
According the jury the 64 selected products and innovations “all perform exceptionally well, in terms of their level of innovation, functionality, design and/or sustainability. The renewed increase of submissions doesn’t just prove the vast importance of the Eurobike Award in the bike world, but also indicates that the bike industry enters another era. Thanks to the rising popularity of e-bikes product design has become more demanding. The prestigious winners of the Eurobike Award 2015 demonstrate how these challenges are met.”
The Eurobike judges also heaped praise on the contributors. “I was impressed by the design of several products”, said mountain-bike professional Karen Eller afterwards.
This year only 12 out of the 64 selected products will receive the Eurobike Gold Awards while one company will get the Eurobike Green Award. This pays tribute to special products and ideas that take sustainability and environmental protection on the bike market to a new level.
All award winners will be on displayed in a special showcase at Eurobike in Foyer West on 29 August until the end of the show. The Gold and Green Awards will be presented at Eurobike on the stage in Foyer Ost at 6 p.m. on the evening of the first day of the show.
The international bike show Eurobike will be open from Wednesday 26 August to Friday, 28 August for bike industry professionals exclusively. On Saturday, 29 August the doors will be open to the general public.
