Taipei Cycle Grows in Asian Visitors
TAIPEI, Taiwan – With a series of new events the 30th Taipei Cycle, which took place from 22 – 25 March, did put in a lot of effort to grow the interest for this second biggest bicycle show in the industry. According to show organizer TAITRA, the four day event attracted at total of 41,892 visitors, including 8,672 international buyers from 97 countries, an increase of 5% compared with 2016.
The top-10 of overseas visitors is dominated by Asian countries. These are China (including Hong Kong), Japan, Korea, Thailand, USA, Singapore, Germany, Malaysia, Philippines and Australia. Show organizerTAITRA also reported a 7% growth in the number of domestic visitors to 33,220.
The new events included the first ever Demo Day, which was held 1 day prior to the show. Some 20 exhibitors and more than 30 brands participated in the event. Demo Day offered various tracks and terrain layouts as well as bike routes with a total length of over 3 kilometers. The first ever Demo Day attracted more than 800 international and domestic buyers.
International industry forum
The ‘Bike to the Future’ international industry forum was also held for the first time and took place on the second day of the show. The event targeted urban biking, R&D of E-bike, product design and brand marketing. The two sessions attracted over 300 industrial experts worldwide, exchanging latest insights from the industry.
New show dates for 2018
In 2018 Taipei Cycle will be held from October 31 to November 3 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1 and TWTC, Hall 1. Booth application is scheduled to start in July, 2017.
