AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (1 November) – Sales of scooters and mopeds couldn’t keep their upward trend in the Netherlands. This was shown in recent figures by the RAI Vereniging. Through september, 55,323 scooters and mopeds have been sold, which is 6,152 less than during the same period of the previous year. Kymco and Hyosung lost 3,000 units, while Tomos and Piaggio saw their market share increase. The statistics now show Peugeot as the Dutch nr. 1 (24%), Piaggio nr. 2 (21%) and Tomos nr. 3 (15%). (OB)
