MAARSSEN, Netherlands (Feb 1) – SED, the buying group that provides financial services for some 400 Twinner, Technicien de Sport and Veloland shops in France, has signed an agreement with the banking side of ANWR. ANWR (Ariston Nord West Ring) is the parent company of Sport 2000, and its banking branch already runs the financial side of business for this chain.
The deal has caused some stir among the retail members, which might lead to a number of them choosing to join Intersport, which is already bigger than SED and Sport 2000 combined in France. (MH)
