The ambitious slogan “The Eagle has landed” accompanied the launch of a completely new type of e-Bike unveiled at the Taipei Cycle Show this year. According to manufacturer JD Group, the Eagle combines design flair and technical innovation.
The Eagle utilizes a lithium polymer power pack and features a series of new innovative components. It is available as a pedal assisted cycle, employing a torque sensor or as an e-bike operated by a handlebar control. The pedal-activated bike is powered by a 250 Watt motor and will fully conform to the new European regulations for EPAC (Electrically Power Assisted Cycles).
The throttle-controlled e-bike comes with a stronger 350 Watt motor that propels the riders with up to 35 km/h. The Eagle is not only a technological step forward, it is also a cool and trendy city bike designed for the urban biker. The electric powered cycle crosses over to the younger generation. It directly targets young urbanites, a target group that is yet to be tapped by manufacturers of electric bicycles.
The Eagle has a wide LCD display screen with large digits for easy viewing. The control console is equipped with Dynamic Diagnostic System (DDS) which identifies possible system malfunctions allowing the dealer to fix most problems. To increase battery life without increasing the size and weight of the battery, JD used lithium polymer technology.
The Eagle’s Lithium polymer power pack is robust, safer with no danger of leakage, has no memory effect and a longer lifespan. The battery pack is integrated into a stylish rear carrier. The pedal assisted version is fitted with the TranzX Power Support Technology patented TMM4 torque drives system and features a 36V 250 Watt electric motor and disk brake.
