For 2011, SRAM expands its aluminium wheel range SL S30 with the addition of a fourth model: the S30 AL Gold. It is the lightest wheelset in the SRAM line at 1450 grams and uses the proven features of the S30 AL, like the hybrid shaped toroidal aluminium rim of 30 millimetres deep, the SAPIM CX Rays spokes, aluminium internal nipples, and a sleek polished Black Diamond finish.

Aside from its looks, the S30 AL Gold’s reduced rolling resistance and improved durability are courtesy of the new high precision ceramic hub bearings from Ceramic Speed.

Additionally, titanium quick releases save 10 grams per wheel, and a new set-screw locking mechanism on the matched gold end caps easily adjusts and maintains the perfect preload. The drive side rear wheel radial lacing provides optimal power transfer and balance; oversize alloy axle and optimized bearing position increase stiffness.
