Since its inception in 1978, Askoll has distinguished itself as a pioneer in innovative technologies, developing synchronous technology applied to electric motors, which offers the opportunity to create electric motors that save over 50% of energy compared to traditional electric motors. Maintaining the same engine power, synchronous technology allows you to produce smaller engines and save on materials such as copper and iron, contributing to environmental sustainability.

Initially developed for the aquarium sector, this technology was subsequently extended to the world of household appliances, heating systems, and, after years of research, urban mobility. Askoll’s constant journey through time and technology has led the company to write a new chapter in its history: the Askoll Ultra.

Custom-made engine

Askoll Ultra C90A is a highly compact power unit with high performance and efficiency. A custom-made engine, designed with craftsmanship and built with Askoll’s proven all-Italian industrial experience that allows every cyclist to experience every single journey to the fullest and for as long as possible.

In terms of performance, the Askoll Ultra C90A motor has a nominal power of 250 W (the maximum is about 1,200 W) and delivers a torque of 90 Nm optimised between 60 and 80 pedal strokes per minute. And with the 110 Nm that characterises the special Boost mode, it will be possible to overcome the most impervious stretches. Five levels of assistance support the cyclist from 80% to 400% of the force expressed, adding the non-assisted mode and the walk assistance mode.

Compact and light

Askoll Ultra C90A technical solutions are patented. Thanks to the 4-axis construction that allows the miniaturization of the engine, Askoll Ultra C90A is compact and light (it weighs only 2.9 kg), despite being made with traditional materials, such as aluminium. This opens up possible scenarios of further weight reduction while maintaining unchanged performance in case the use of new materials for constructing the crankcase will be required in the future, such as magnesium, for example.

In-tube battery

The Askoll Ultra power kit also includes the Askoll in-tube battery. Askoll In-Tube was developed internally to preserve and maximize the efficiency of the engine and the whole system. Designed for intense use and protected by the frame in which it is integrated, the Askoll in-tube battery has a high-resistance extruded aluminium body, shock-resistant waterproof connectors and a small footprint. Available in 630 Wh and 500 Wh sizes, the Askoll in-tube battery is light and quick to charge: the 500 Wh version takes about 3 hours to go from 0 to 100% and only an hour and a half to recharge from 25% to 80%.

The Sigma control centre completes the Askoll Ultra solution. Through the Sigma EOX system, riders will have the maximum freedom of integration, connection and sharing allowed on the road. The rider can communicate with the Askoll Ultra system directly from the EOX Remote 500 multifunctional ergonomic controller: equipped with Bluetooth and Ant+ connection, EOX Remote 500 allows you to manage and check all the essential information in one click. Thanks to the Mobile Sigma RIDE integration, EXO Remote 500 connects directly to the EOX App, which can be used to track and share rides on various channels and social media.
