End of the Stefan Reisinger era as Eurobike brings in new leadership

FRANKFURT, Germany - The dissatisfaction within the industry about the recent edition of Eurobike and the German industry association's decision to pull out, has prompted the show to change its leadership. Long-serving show manager Stefan Reisinger is making an exit, and will support the new management during a transitional phase. Will this change mark a turnaround from the industry organisations? "It makes sense that the Eurobike will be completely revised by 2027, and negotiations could begin at the beginning of next year, provided that the necessary conditions are met," confirms Burkhard Stork, managing director of ZIV.

BAUNACH, Germany - Despite its long-standing history and supplying to over 2,500 customers in more than 60 countries, Messingschlager's key activities were largely known only to industry insiders. In the past decade, the company expanded into various business fields, which became very distinct over time. "Demand from customers these days is so much more diverse than just a product at a competitive price," says Messingschlager CEO Christoph Bantle.

FRANKFURT, Germany - The introduction of MobiFuture last June at Eurobike was rather subdued and came as a surprise to many. It caused a big stir in the industry, making Fairnamic announce today: "key market participants see the need for further clarification of Mobifuture's concept and direction, which is why it will not be presented as a standalone trade show format in 2026."

For decades, the show seemed a fixed element in the industry calendar, but even Eurobike cannot escape the recent dramatic changes in the industry.

Eurobike doubts from German industry sends trade show landscape further adrift

FRANKFURT, Germany - The disruption in the international bicycle industry has also reached the trade show landscape. The Taichung Bike Week experienced its weakest edition in years this September. This was followed by last week's announcement that German industry bodies ZIV and Zukunft Fahrrad will end their cooperation with Eurobike. For over three decades, Eurobike has been the premier global platform for the German industry to showcase itself to the world. What the future holds is still uncertain.

Women in Cycling evolves from camaraderie to data-driven purpose

FRANKFURT, Germany - Eurobike marked the fourth edition of the Women in Cycling breakfast. Growing from humble beginnings with a few participants to a raucous reception for this year's speakers. This is no longer a simple networking event to bind a minority group together, but a movement looking to evolve the face of the industry. Data is now at the forefront as initiatives focus on, amongst other things, closing the gender equity pay gap. The number of new national women-driven networks being launched this year alone, shows that the momentum is not just growing, it's becoming unstoppable.

Information gap at purchasing level delays industry recovery

FRANKFURT, Germany - The fragmentation in the industry is more and more hampering the development of the business. The large number of companies often operate in a limited part of the market, which makes it difficult to gather enough information. This lack of data makes it very difficult to manage the supply chain efficiently. Eurobike and Bike Europe jointly created the Global Bicycle Purchasing Index aimed at creating a benchmark for purchase and product managers.
