TAICHUNG, Taiwan (October 21) – In the wake of the recent collapse and bankruptcy of Taiwanese crankset maker CPI, better known as Cyclone, Tien Hsin Industries (THI) has taken advantage of this consolidation by purchasing all of CPI’s manufacturing molds and hiring former CPI managers. TH Industries will immediately start production and shipment of products that have been ordered by bike makers and OEM suppliers. “The timing couldn’t be worse for the customers of CPI. Now when production is really ramping up, to have a stoppage like this is really difficult for everybody in the supply chain to deal with. We are taking all steps possible to identify customer’s orders, and to get their products shipped on time”, says Douglas Chiang, Managing Director of TH Industries. Traditionally, TH Industries has focused on the high-end of the component business. By acquiring these manufacturing molds, TH will begin to offer products and compete in the low to middle end of the crankset business.
TH Industries is a high quality manufacturer of headsets, bottom brackets, cranksets, handlebar stems as well as other bicycle components. In addition to making products under it’s own TH and PowerPro brands, TH Industries also manufactures Aheadset branded threadless headsets under license from Cane Creek as well as manufacturing components for other North American and European component brands.
