ALBSTADT, Germany (March 22) – Gonso, the German manufacturer of (bike) apparel is on the brink of a take over. The company went into judicial administration last month. Apparent reason for this is the stockpiling of un-sold products over the years. Basically, the company is sound: it’s sales went up some 5% last year and it secured a licence to manufacture underwear for trend-brand Chiemsee. As it looks now, the factory will be closed but R&D and marketing will be safe under the leadership of Jürgen Schatz, grandson of the company’s founder. (MH)
