LONDON, UK (Aug 9) – The terrorist attacks on the London Tube system have driven many travellers to bicycles. The fear of further attacks on public transport (42% of all Brits say they do not like taking public transport anymore) has caused a rise in bicycle sales. According to the UK bicycle board, some 10 to 30%. People prefer being master of their own ‘destiny’ e.g. travel in their own transport to being locked up in a bus or tube – with the risks that have become real since July 7. (MH)
