LAUSANNE, Switzerland (Nov 8) – Cilo, once the biggest Swiss bicycle manufacturer (40,000 units per year), stopped production in 2001 and went in liquidation in 2003 after an insolvency procedure. But the Geneva SHEC consultancy (hospitality engineering, whatever it is, consultants to public administration, education, refugee management, tourism) bought the Cilo rights for CHF 60,000 (€ 39,000). Newcomers in bikeland, SHEC has opened a distribution center in Lausanne with ex-pro racer and Cilo employee Jocelyn Jolidon at the helm. Cilo offers eight high-end models, and will focus on the French-speaking part (Romandie) of Switzerland.(source: SAZ-Bike)
