Derby Cycle Expands Capacity with 100,000 Units

QUAKENBRUCK, Germany – We will produce around 400 bicycles each day, which means over 100,000 a year in our new facility, the former Kynast factory”, says Mathias Seidler, the MD of Derby Cycle Werke GmbH. Last week Derby Cycle started production at the Quakenbrück site.

Kynast bike GmbH, bought initially from Georg Dobelmann, was taken over by Derby Cycle on December 1st and thus secured bicycle production at the Quakenbrück site. “We are most pleased to have a plant with experienced staff familiar with procedures” says Seidler, who will thus be able to “significantly expand” his company’s capacity.

“We have taken on 22 former Kynast bike GmbH employees”, continues Seidler, and have been training them in their new positions since the first of November in our parent factory in Cloppenburg. A total of 35 employees have been working in Quakenbrück since the beginning of this week.”

Seidler also announced further increases in staff: a total of 50 are to work here in future. Since the integration of Kynast, the Derby Cycle Group now employs around 500 persons.
