Rotor Stem with Double Thread Technology

Component manufacturer Rotor has developed a stem with a patented closure of the face. The Spanish maker calls it DTT (= Double Thread Technology).

Rotor claims a better distribution of stress in both the supporting surface of the body and the face by using double-threaded bolts for the clamp. Above that the surface of the thread replaces the face surface of the traditional bolt. The overall effect is that it can be made lighter than most traditional stems.

DTT is also applied on the fork side. The system has been tested for safety by the reputed German test institute EFBe. The new Rotor S1 (it’s their first ever) is available in lengths from 90 to 130 millimetre and it has a 7.5 degree tilt. The 90 millimetre version weights 99 gram.
