SRAM’s Next Leap Forward in Road Racing

After the introduction of the Force and the Rival last year, SRAM has taken the next step, entering the top level of road racing. The eight component Red groupset weighs only 1,928 grams.

The Red features innovative technologies such as DoubleTap and Exact Actuation to the road as introduced with the Force. Additionally SRAM has combined the DoubleTap with proven technology from the SRAM X.0: Zero Loss travel.

Normally all standard road shifters need a certain degree of lost travel, just to engage the shifting pawl before you begin to shift gears. The SRAM Red is the first road shifter with zero "lost travel", meaning the pawl is always engaged. Thanks to the new pawl geometry gears can be shifted much faster. For the first time, both the shift and brake levers can be adjusted to make sure they fit the specific hand size and needs of the rider.

Tuning can be accomplished via two separate adjusters situated on top and beneath the levers to give a more natural and comfortable riding position. Additionally, the SRAM Red shifters offer dual cable routing.
