Cannondale to Open Multi-Brand Concept Store
MONTREAL, Canada – It will be based on Long Island in New York and measure 4,200 square feet. The multi-brand concept store is called Cannondale Sports and will be operated by Cannondale’s mother company Dorel Industries
This was revealed at the presentation of Dorel’s first quarter results. The company is taking a more direct hand in the retailing of their products. It also plans to collect and share business insights with its dealers and use the flagship location to continue its brand-building goals.
The well-informed consumer
“The bicycle retailing experience can and should be reimagined for the modern, well-informed consumer. We can understand exactly what our dealers want and need,” said Dorel’s CEO Martin Schwartz.
Cannondale has also researched consumer habits and found customers know they are going to buy a bike in the spring, but don’t know where or what brand. To that end Dorel is planning a big marketing push for Cannondale’s latest high-tech road racing bike, the 2014 Synapse Carbon Hi-MOD, along with heavy promotion of the company’s long-lasting Schwinn brand.
